Relax in the Cozy Family Room

Snuggle up by the wood stove/fireplace, read a good book, watch your favorite TV shows or movies on the Smart TV or use the separate work space. Double French doors lead to the private balcony.

What an experience!
My sweetheart and I decided to spend five weeks in the southwest of France as we determined if it was us going to indeed be the place where we would move, and find our forever home.
We stayed at a few places in Dordogne – … Which were very nice. However, we really needed to be in a place where we could relax and have the feeling of home.
And then we found Blue Horizons Farm. What a find, what an incredible experience. What was going to be 10 days stretched into three weeks. We extended our stay because the host and hostess of this incredible home were gracious, warm and friendly. So much so that we had Christmas dinner with Kristen and Christopher and couldn’t stop laughing. They became friends.
Their home is spacious and well appointed, and I must add that all of this came together rather quickly for them because they had not planned to open their home to guest until March 2025. They hurried and hustled, and we came to a home that welcomed us for Christmas. It was decorated fully and appointed with all things holiday and family.
The area is great, about a five minute drive into downtown Sarlat. This is a good, short distance from all the hustle and bustle of the town. This home easily accommodates a family with 2 to 3 children; or two couples. The kitchen was fully appointed and we enjoyed going to local markets for food and cooking at home.
Additionally, it was an easy drive to get Bergerac, and Perigeaux.
I can only imagine how beautiful this property will be when there’s foliage on the trees and the air is warm. Seeing the rolling hills on the shortest, and coldest days, was positively enchanting. Mysterious; and we did have lovely days of sun as well.
In the end, staying at this beautiful home, sealed our decision to buy a home in the area.
It was the home, the ambience, and of course, our lovely hosts who helped make the decision.
Oh, and we got engaged when we were there!
